Links

Hyperlinks provide search engines and users relevant contextual information about the content of the link's destination. Users can click hyperlinks to access related pages. Make sure that destination pages are available for search engines and users.

A link that points to any resource unavailable for a number of reasons (invalid URL, non-existent page (400 code) will be marked as broken.

Please note that the tool scans only Internal links (hyperlinks on a webpage to another page or resource, such as an image or document, on the same website or domain) and External outbound links (hyperlinks that point to external pages or resources).

Image links / Button links

We recommend to add title tags to image and button links. An example of a button link is a social media button that points at a social media profile. Anchor text isn't mandatory for these links. It will be highlighted with orange in the Audit report.
